چکیده

The quality of satellite-based precipitation products including TMPA 3B42, IMERG-early, IMERG-final, and CMORPH-CRT, is evaluated by comparing with gauge observations in Hunan province China between 2017 2019. By using the outputs Dominant River Routing Integrated VIC Environment (DRIVE) model, hydrological applications gauge- are analyzed them streamflow observations. Furthermore, we conduct a case study considering Typhoon Bailu. It found that IMERG-final can produce better results compared to other three against gauge-based precipitation. In terms discharge simulations, provides most accurate results, followed IMERG-final. During Bailu, peak mean rainfall center (24.5°N–26°N, 111°E–114°E) occurred on 25 August 2019, whereas daily reached its one day later, suggesting lagged impact streamflow. From Taylor diagram, for estimating during respectively. Overall, has best performance application, performs among four products.

Evaluation of Precipitation Products of TRMM Satellite in Precipitation and Erosion Rate Monitoring across Iran

Extended abstract 1- Introduction     In order to calculate the erosive power of rainfall, high-resolution precipitation data are necessary for rainfall erosion evaluation. However, collecting the required data on kinetic energy of the rainfall particles and precipitation rates with short-term temporal resolution is a time-intensive task, particularly in developing countries, and the collecte...

Comparison and evaluation of satellite derived precipitation products for hydrological modeling of the Zambezi River Basin

In the framework of the African DAms ProjecT (ADAPT), an integrated water resource management study in the Zambezi Basin is currently under development. In view of the sparse gauging network for rainfall monitoring, the observations from spaceborne instrumentation currently produce the only available rainfall data for a large part of the basin. Three operational and acknowledged high resolution...

Evaluation of Satellite Precipitation Products with Rain Gauge Data at Different Scales: Implications for Hydrological Applications

Rain gauge and satellite-retrieved data have been widely used in basin-scale hydrological applications. While rain gauges provide accurate measurements that are generally unevenly distributed in space, satellites offer spatially regular observations and common error prone retrieval. Comparative evaluation of gauge-based and satellite-based data is necessary in hydrological studies, as precipita...
